She and Her Cat is cozy magical realism for cat lovers! This was a soft and comforting read that features four vignettes about women and their varying cats that tie together quite sweetly. If you’re looking for a short, low stakes read, this is a good one.

The fact that the author is the filmmaker for one of my favorite anime movies, Your Name, makes complete sense. This felt like an anime short! The translator also did a great job and I’m interested in reading more translations by her.
