Renegade Champion: The Unlikely Rise of Fitzrada
by Richard R. Rust
informative
slow-paced
Fitzrada originally belonged to the United States Army. He was aggressive and ill mannered, causing his riders to really struggle with him. The Army planned to put him down, but a girl living on base with her military father persuaded him to buy her the horse. They went on to be show jumping champions. The story was really sweet, the bond that Jane had with Fitzrada. I was rooting for them the whole time, even though these events had already happened years ago. I loved the story. He was a beautiful horse as well. I googled pictures of Jane and Fitzrada. I would recommend this book for anyone interested in equestrian sports.
