Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
5.0

The book is a satire, mocking American army during WW2. It is hilarious yet serious too. There are officers who are corrupt, immoral and who make money at the expense of the army. They don't even have a yardstick on promotions which is given it to officers at whims and fancies. There is even an instance where an officer rapes a girl and kills her and walks away scot-free.
