description~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
What can I say about this book that I didn't already say about book one (A Shameless Little Con)? Not much to be honest. This one was just as fantastic as the first book. The writing remains phenomenal. The pace was perfect. The plot was super engaging. The twists and turns will make your head SPIN. Seriously...I don't know who to trust? Who to believe? Who is lying? Who is doing what and why? Gah...it's a mind f-ck for sure. And of course, we are left hanging with yet another whopper of a cliffhanger.

~HERO~
SILAS...I adored Silas in this one...until I didn't. He opened up more. He apologized. He stood by Jane. We seemed to be headed in a more positive direction in regards to Silas's character...until he went and ruined it all. I wanted to kick him in his a$$. That said, I am hoping that there is more at play here and things are maybe not as they appear. Because if there isn't, and he just reverted to the Silas of book one I am not sure how Jane (or me the reader) could ever forgive him.

~HEROINE~
JANE...I still very much ADORE Jane, but this poor heroine just keeps taking the hits like a well-used punching bag...oy vey. It really is relentless and after two books of her being everyone's favorite chew toy, my patience is starting to thin a little. If I was Jane at this point, I think I'd tell everyone to f-ck-off and go live on a deserted island for the rest of my life. I am really hoping that in the last book Jane gets vindication in a HUGE way. I want people groveling at her feet (cough DREW & SILAS cough). I am not sure anything less than that is going to satisfy me.

~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
Like in the first book most of the secondary characters are carryovers from the HARMLESS series. And I'll be honest this author is REALLY killing Drew's character for me. I loved him as the hero in the other series, but in this one, he is such a complete A$$hole. We also meet a couple new characters (Duff and Lily) both intrigued me. Especially Lily as my spidey senses say there is more to her than meets the eye. I guess we will see.

~HEAT LEVEL~
Low to Medium. There are a few sex scenes in this one and they are mildly erotic. The frequency of them felt organic to the story. The couple had good on page chemistry as well.

~ANGST LEVEL~
High. I literally spent most of this book with teary eyes (lol). I am not sure why this one felt more angsty than the last book, but it did. Most of that angst stems from practically everyone still thinking the worst of Jane. Like I said, this poor girl can't catch a break and then to have the person you opened up to the most turn their back on you and treat you like crap AGAIN. Ugh...yup, cue the waterworks. Her inner thoughts alone broke my heart through the entirety of the damn book. Aside from that, there was no OW or OM drama and we find out a bit more about their sexual backgrounds. Jane was a virgin (groan) and Silas hasn't been with anyone in three years.

~IN THE END~
It was amazing. I loved it. I can't believe I have to wait patiently again for the concluding book. I think this author is trying to kill me! Fantastic writing. Tons of feels. Twists and turn galore. An intricate and unique plot. Intriguing and well developed characters. What more can a reader ask for? Therefore yours truly is going to give this one two HUGE thumbs up.description
