I am not one to read "nonfiction" but Hadley wrote this book as if she was telling her story to you in person. This book (Which I am not fully admitting to at all) made me tear up. I am a dietary aide for a hospital currently, nursing home for five years prior. I have met many wonderful residents, and their stories were told to me as well. I know hospice nurses and myself are two different worlds but I found a connection to her. The compassion she shared tore me. I too had a resident that refused to speak to anyone however during the pandemic heydays I somehow grew with her. We began to watch church on her TV every Sunday as I helped her get it on, and hooked her laptop to the HDMI cords. I am not religious but I sat with her, wearing my mask as we watched in silence. She broke it one day reminding me I am not religious. How she knew never dawned on me. I knew enough of Christianity  I thought I was playing along, but she never cared. Every Sunday I sat with her until she did become sick not from COVID and she died. Hadley is a very compassionate nurse, a rarity in the world that truly cares for her patients. This book deserves the full five stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
