Royally Not Ready
by Meghan Quinn
I wasn’t prepared for Meghan Quinn to take on a royal romance, but she takes the crown for writing such a unique story with her usual humor and steaminess!
First was all the hilariousnesss that usually ensues in her stories with Lilly’s amusing mispronunciation as well as just her completely butchering the words and places she’s told about, such as Hagrid castle. Or when Keller tells her it is his job to be a part of her business and she answers him by letting him know about how she used the shower sprayer on her private parts. When they are preparing her for what could happen if she were to be kidnapped and how to try to save herself, of course she comes up with being tickled for torture, and Keller has to ask if she wants them to prepare her for tickle torture.
As the two decide to give in to their obvious physical attraction, the book got so hot. I’m not always a fan of dom storylines, but this definitely had me wishing someone would storm my castle! What I love about Quinn’s books though, is that she can take me from this aspect of a story to a hilarious moment where I’m laughing at Lilly trying to take Keller down by showing him the “moves” that one of the other bodyguards taught her.
I had a bit of an inkling about who might be the leak in the news about her being in the country, but it definitely wasn’t completely spelled out and so when it was discovered, I was in as much disbelief as the other people who were affected by this person. I loved when Lilly got to meet her grandparents and begin to actually visit her new country and its people. And after the darkest night moment with Keller, which had me in tears, another thing Quinn is good at doing to me, the way he went about winning Lilly back was perfect and made this a perfect HEA.
