Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score
5.0

I cannot get over how much I loved this book. I've read over one hundred books this year and this is easily in my top five. It's THAT good.

This is a dual POV book, grumpy/sunshine, single parent, found family, enemies to lovers book. It's got everything you're looking for, trust me.

Naomi and Knox are such a special couple, but also as individual people. I loved their backstories, and the way in which they literally fell together. I know Knox was put off Naomi at first (because he thought she was her criminal twin sister) but I adored seeing him slowly warm up to her and eventually fall in love with her. She is one of my favorite female characters because of her heart and her tenacity, her fierceness and her love. She didn't hesitate to take on the role of mother for her niece and moved mountains to give her a better life. That alone made me love her deeply.

KNOW MORGAN. Goodness. What a man. Yes, he's the definition of grumpy, but boy, do we see his soft side very quickly. Although he hides it, he cares and just wants to help. I think it doesn't hurt that it's Naomi he gets to help, and Waylay too, but it's evident from the start that despite his tough exterior, he would give the shirt off of his back for those he loves.

I love the world building that Lucy Score just does so well. She makes you fall in love with not only the main characters, but every other person in town as well. It was all so vivid and I could picture everything so well.

Waylay is my girl! I LOVED her relationship with Naomi and Knox too. She's just so smart and an amazing kid, despite all that she has been through.

Lucy Score knows how to write a sex scene! I mean... it was HOT. Made better by the fact that Naomi and Knox had such amazing chemistry.

“You make broken things whole again. Me. You made me whole. And every time you smile at me, I feel like I hit the lottery again.”

“I want daisies in your hair.”

Seriously, it's been days and I can't stop thinking about this book. READ IT!
