I liked this book. It wasn't a book that I really loved but I generally liked it. I've heard some not so great reviews so I was pleasantly surprised. In general, I've learned I'm not a huge fan of pirate like books but it was good.
The worldbuilding wasn't the best, but I enjoyed the references to Greek/Roman culture. The plot was pretty medium-faced paced and I got through it pretty quick. There were areas I wish there was more development, especially the end. I felt like we got so much introduction to the characters and their initial journey that the final task they had to face was wrapped up pretty quickly.
I liked Alix and Karis. I thought they had decent characterization to them but the other characters really lacked this. I thought Alix was the more interesting out of all of them and we really got to see his development throughout the book.
