Thank you to Talking Animals Books for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC.
I thought Off Menu was incredibly cute and inspiring! It makes me want to bounce into the kitchen and make something from scratch just like Soup does! It’s a quick graphic novel, and a perfect palette cleanser (pun intended) to read when you’ve got a hour or so—and who doesn’t like a good cook-off competition? I loved Soup’s growth throughout the graphic novel and when she found her voice it stayed and she used it to advocate for herself and her friends! But I can honestly say Clarion was definitely my favorite character—I loved how honest and upfront they were while also being extremely loving and supportive of Soup! We just love a great friend!!
Anyway, read this if you just want chill vibes similar to Legends and Lattes, but with just a bit more of a higher stake, and if you’re looking for a cute graphic novel to get you out of a reading slump or to help cleanse your palette from heavier topics. Bon appetite!
