caseythereader 's review for:
Sleeping Giants
by Sylvain Neuvel
This book's central premise is unique and fascinating, and it's full of intriguing characters with complex relationships to each other. However, the interview/diary format pretty much leaches all the underlying emotion out and replaces it with verbal exposition about the characters' feelings. I could see every plot development coming about ten pages in advance and we were repeatedly told how evil the main villain was, but their actions didn't bear that out until the last minute in a way that seemed out of character to me. All that said, I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!
