Opposites really do attract in this very engaging and enjoyable romance between best friends Lawson and Chester (Chess).

Lawson is gruff, sarcastic and cynical, grumpy and anti relationships due to his less than stellar parents. He also despises all things Christmas. Chess is a big marshmallow who is full of sweetness and sunshine, super loyal, very passionate and full of optimism. He also loves Christmas. Somehow these two ending up being the best of friends sharing a home together.

Chess, along with the other Vet Shop Boys employees, decides to show Lawson how wonderful Christmas can really be. This leads to some fun get togethers with the veterinarians and abs are involved! Slowly but surely this “mission” has Lawson starting to enjoy the season and all the new traditions that he and Chess come up with. Traditions that lead to some very sweet and steamy times!

This book had me laughing at times and also feeling a bit heart sore for Lawson’s childhood but I had a huge smile on my face at the end. All the characters from previous books are here to celebrate and we get a tiny glimpse of what’s coming next. You don’t need to have read the previous books but it would enhance the reading experience.
