This book got me out of my audiobook slump because it was SO GOOD. Seriously an emotional roller coaster from start to finish. I will say that I was super hoping that the next two books wouldn’t take me away from Kady and Ezra’s POVs, but I’m gonna take my chances. WOO!! ADRENALINE

Full review! :)

I'm SO happy this book was recommended to me. I was in the middle of a super frustrating audiobook slump and I asked for some recs on Instagram!

I was very intrigued by the synopsis for this book and checked out the audiobook from my library immediately. First impressions of the audio: that the Briefing Note voice was creepy and that I LOVED Kady and Ezra from their first chapters. The voice actors for them were so, so good. At first I was worried that I was going to be annoyed with all the extra file information that wasn't Kady/Ezra, like the stuff about the Kerenza attack and whatnot, but all the added info was super interesting and was a really unique way to tell the story. I especially liked the guy who narrates the Surveillance Summary sections because those were hilarious.

This audiobook was INTENSE (I'm actually really glad I did the audiobook for this because there was a moment near the end when I got a copy of the ebook to skim ahead and make sure it was worth finishing, and the format is really crazy and almost impossible to read via phone.) There were times when I was just super freaked out and had to take a break because my nerves were so on edge.

AIDAN WAS SO SCARY. Oh my god. I was so creeped out by him and his thought process and I just wanted him to stay the hell away from Kady and ugh. Ew. Every time I heard "More data from the Aidan core" I got goosebumps. TECHNOLOGY IS SO SCARY, YOU GUYS. I've been seeing a few people on Instagram saying that Aidan is their favorite character and I'm like WHAAAAAT THE F.

I absolutely LOVED Kady and Ezra. They were so frickin adorable together and their relationship was so great. There were a lot of twists and turns in this and I was surprised by pretty much ALL of them. When THAT ONE happened, I shrieked. I was just driving on the freeway with my mouth hanging open for like 3 straight minutes. I was PISSED. I've never felt so betrayed.

I will say that I was really hoping that the next two books wouldn't be from different characters' POVs, but alas... they are. I was kinda disappointed by that but Kady & Ezra's story is not over yet and I know I'll see them pop up again! I'm gonna continue on with the series though, so fingers crossed I like the other characters, too!
