Oath Bound
by Amanda Booloodian
I've read the entire trilogy and I got to say I loved every moment of it!
Alright.. not every moment. Sometimes I wanted to punch to MC in the face. You often see these MC's, weaker than her foes, and you'll see them run in with snark and sarcasm and come out nearly unscathed. Your heart will be beating and you'll be thinking "wow that was close"
That doesn't happen here. The MC, without the snark and sarcasm, will stubbornly do stupid things to put her in dangerous situations that, no, NO, she does not "nearly" escape. She gets pummeled to such lenghts I'd call this MC an abuse victim, The author being the abusee!
I do not understand the gal this MC has that she can tell her bodyguards to turn off voice communications when there is serial killers after her sweet behind. She's a spoiled little princess I say. Upset at bodyguards. Idiotic.
Regardless I loved this trilogy, I desperately need more. The author needs to make a secondary trilogy, or.. *gasp* another story in the same universe. And I normally hate spin-offs!
The magic in this book felt real, it made sense, and I'd have really loved hearing more about it. Despite my rant of the MC, I liked Mira. When she wasn't being reckless for no reason. I liked the romance and that made "sense" too. Without getting into spoilers I mean.
I read all three books back-to-back and it deserves all the praise I can give it!
