The Strike Out
by Meghan Quinn
Holt Green. He is on a whole different level. He has so many different layers. I love that he isn’t the typical spoiled, rich, jerk baseball player. He has such a positive outlook on life, he lives it to the absolute fullest and he is just over the top in the best possible ways. Harmony Styles. She is hard working. She is full of sass. She can banter back and forth with Holt like it’s her job. She’s been hurt in the past when it comes to athletes, so I loved that she doesn’t give into Holt easily.
I absolutely adored everything about Holt and Harmony. These two have amazing chemistry and the banter between them was perfection. I couldn’t get enough of it. I loved seeing how Holt and Harmony’s relationship progressed from their first meeting, to the continued flirting, to the friendship they formed and continuing into something more from there.
I loved that we got more of the Brentwood boys, too. These guys have a great friendship and I loved every moment of it. The Strike Out does take place before the other stories, with some slight over lap with the timeline of The Locker Room.
The Strike Out had me laughing so hard I was crying, then it broke my heart and had me ugly crying. This story was unexpectedly emotional, but all the tears were completely worth it. Holt and Harmony’s story is truly beautiful.
If you’re looking for a slow burn sports romance with plenty of banter this one is a must read.
