I think I'd give this a 3.8 out of 5. I struggle with contemporaries at times, and there were certain aspects of this book that made it drag a little for me. I did enjoy it, in a semi-nostalgic manner looking back to how I reacted to things when I was around 13/14. Which is why I think I struggled with this story so much, as the characters were meant to be older than 13, and their immaturity distracted from some of the more meaningful aspects on offer.

But there are some great interactions between the characters and I adore how she is bringing Indian culture to the masses.
