I was expecting a super sweet second chance romance between childhood best friends but man was this such an emotional read with such angst, grief, trauma and so much more. My heart hurt for all three of these brothers while reading. 

Morgan finds himself back in his hometown of Birchbark after almost a decade of being gone. Now that he is back he has to deal with the toxicity of his family while also coming face to face with his ex-best friend that he has secretly been in love with since they were kids. The things Morgan felt he truly didn't deserve, really broke my heart. I loved how Dusty constantly reassured him not only with his words, but with his touch and actions as well. I mean Dusty was willing to give up his entire life and follow Morgan anywhere he went just to prove his love 😭

Not only was Morgan trying to mend his relationship with Dusty but also with his brothers. There was a lot of growth between Morgan and Dusty and I loved watching them get back to such an amazing place in their relationship. And their chemistry, the way these men worshipped each other  😮‍💨🥵

While things aren't perfect between Morgan and his brothers, its a work in progress and I hope to see more of the healing in future books in the series for all the brothers.
