Courage to Soar: A Body in Motion, a Life in Balance
by Simone Biles
This follows Simone Biles from the time she is born to the time she goes to the 2016 Olympics in Rio. This follows hardship and joy.
I really, really enjoyed this and didn’t want to stop listening to this. I never knew Simone was in foster care and adopted by her grandparents. I can somewhat relate to her because I was not adopted by my grandparents, but was raised by them from the time I was 3 months old until the time I went to college. I love how Simone and her sister get a dog. I can totally see why Simone dropped out of some of the competitions in this past Olympics based off what she wrote in this. Also, I never knew she had ADHD. I think that’s cool that she has a hard time focusing on things, but when it comes to gymnastics she has laser focus. I totally recommend this book.
