Defending Taylor by Miranda Kenneally
5.0

Once again, Kenneally has hit it out of the park with a book about strong females who excel in whatever their passion may be.

In Defending Taylor, that passion is soccer...but after mistakes she's made that cause her to have to switch schools, it's more difficult to not only play and enjoy soccer, but just to be the same person she was before.

This book is very good at showing what can go wrong from a seemingly small mistake and from doing what you think is right at the time and find out it was the wrong choice. Taylor has to learn the hard way who is really there for her and cares about her more than themselves and who only has their own best interests at heart. It's a tough lesson, but one we all learn at some point.

I'm a big fan of the Hundred Oaks books and I recommend them for any middle to high school aged teen, as well as anyone who enjoys YA fiction.
