I have not read the other books in the series but I did not feel like I missed anything; however, I will be going back and reading them because this third installment was so good.

Viktor has spent fifteen years hardening himself into a ruthless enforcer, but nothing—no battle, no torture—rattles him quite like Luca Rossi. Luca, the untouchable right hand man, is cruel, smug, and thrives on making our main character's life a living hell. Their interactions are electric, brimming with aggression, simmering lust, and an undercurrent of something even more dangerous: longing.

The enemies to lovers dynamic here is brutal in the best way. This isn’t just a case of bickering and unresolved tension but there is genuine animosity between them, a history of antagonism that makes every stolen moment feel sharp and visceral. The push and pull is addicting, filled with scathing insults, raw emotions, and undeniable attraction that neither Viktor nor Luca wants to admit.

But when bodies start piling up, and an unknown threat emerges against the Costello family, they’re forced to work together. And that’s when things really explode. Forced proximity amps up the tension, peeling back their defenses and exposing vulnerabilities neither wants to acknowledge. Watching their relationship shift from pure hate to reluctant allies, to something even more consuming, is absolute perfection.

Beyond the romance, His Enforcer is a gripping mafia story. The suspense, the action, and the high stakes keep the plot moving quickly but you do not miss a single thing. There’s an underlying sense of danger woven through every page, making every interaction between Luca and Viktor feel even more intense.
