I’ve had this book for awhile and glad I finally gave it a chance. Maddie (Maame) was a character who was very relatable in some ways. While I’m not Ghanaian or in my 20s, I do understand the weight of having to figure things out and not like you are fully engaged in living. Her relationships with men were also a highlight of the story. Ultimately, it was the grief she felt after the unexpected loss of her father that I resonated with the most.
I’m glad she found happiness and peace in the end.
