lizbethandthelifeinbetween 's review for:
David Copperfield
by Charles Dickens
This book was decent. It is long, and some parts are more boring than others. After a while, it does start to feel aimless.
Overall, I enjoyed the trials and tribulations, as well as the characters, and the language used. The writing style is definitely excessive by today's standard, but I do feel like people overexaggerate Dicken's description. It's much more than you'll find in any modern novel, but it creates tremendous scenes that are lively and vivid. It takes still to list information in this way and I appreciate that.
This book is a product of ti's time, and there were some characters, scenes, and the like that rubbed me the wrong way because of this. It was frustrating at times, but not terrible.
Solid book and would recommend it to people who enjoy a long read and classics.
