Shades of Milk and Honey by Mary Robinette Kowal
4.0

To say this is inspired by Jane Austen would be an understatement. There are clear characters, plot points and events nearly lifted from the pages of Jane Austen's work. That saying, I really enjoyed it!

The style is more typical Austenite than Julia Quinn or Stephanie Lauren's (leaders in the Regency field in my opinion) however there cold have been more wit within the dialogue.

I liked the characters because I already felt familiar to them due to the link to Austen's work. I also really enjoyed the Glamourist twist and felt it was very well done.

The outcome is not surprising but still enjoyable. The conclusion of the book seemed a little forced and it to suddenly jump to, "I love this guy though not really interacted with or had thoughts in that direction".
