I'm so excited about the setting of this book. The culture and the depiction of magic were wonderful, as there is so much to unpack in the tension of people groups with and without magic as they clash with each other. The middle of this book dragged a little for me, especially with all the romantic moments that aren't in general my cup of tea, but the ending was really strong and I'll definitely be interested to read more in this series.
