I’m going to preface this review by saying that I watched the first season of the show before I read the book....
With that said, I thought the show was waaaaaaaay better. And the two are so incredibly different. But it’s because the two are so different that I was still able to enjoy this book. There are a few of the same characters but most of their stories are different enough where they become unique in the book. And there’s some different characters in the book and the show that don’t overlap.
Glass is a character I don’t see the point of in the book. She’s just whiny and useless and I’d skip her chapters if they didn’t tell you what was still going on in space.
I like the Clarke/Bellamy story in the book a little better but I like leader Bellamy a lot more than the Bellamy in the book.
I’m also really curious to see what happens with Wells because he was one character I wanted to see more of in the show and I’ve enjoyed reading more about him in the books.
I’m definitely going to keep reading this series because I’m curious to find out what happens next in the books and see if the show runs parallel to it still!
