The Summer of Broken Rules by K.L. Walther
4.0
adventurous lighthearted fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes

nothing, i say nothing will beat the summer vibes of this book. first off, the setting is real. the locations the characters visit actually exists, and i was basically making my martha's vineyard travel bucket list the whole time i was reading. these details really make this book unlike some other romances (i am looking at you better than the movies) this is turning rambly, so it is time to break down my review.

CHARACTERS🌊
meredith fox: i am going to be honest, the more i try and think on her character, the more i seem to forget things. she is dealing with the death of her sister, and she creates a fake personality online, but at the end of the day, she is just your typical girl. in this book i am not bothered by it. everything continues to work out so well. OH! one key thing i do like about her is her persistence in making things right with luli. no miscommunication allowed there!

stephen
"wit" witry:
HIS NAME IS STEPHEN!!!
i will never be over that scene because the epilogue?
"my bride????"
everything he does for meredith?? i like more more than her especially during their miscommunication moment. i personally do not put him at fault, but i understand the logic behind it. wit really was trying for meredith, and my soul was pleased.

PLOT🔫
the only thing i could truly focus on was the game. i DESPARATELY want to play assassin now as it seems perfect for summer. also, i am so glad that meredith did not win. it sounds awful, i know, but there are too many books where the character gets everything they want. this was really refreshing to see. meredith's grief was handled well, and so was getting over ben. i know people are not happy with the instant love, but i did not mind it at all. if you find the right person, you really cannot help it, and as it turns out, mer did find the right boy for her.

i believe this is all. really enjoyed it. the missing of one star is because i don't do spice🫣 but it was really minor in this book, so do not let that stop you from reading it!!

highly, HIGHLY recommend.
