I went into this book blind because it was for book club so I had no idea what I was walking into. I loved it, though. A really interesting and great discussion on white women thinking they know best and who and how it hurts. It is a book about toxic friendships and about the power of women friendships when they aren't toxic. It's about understanding who we want to be and how to get there. It's about listening to those who love you and ignoring those who only think they love you. It is a powerful and worthwhile read that manages to be both very funny in parts while also extremely tense and heart wrenching in others.
