I surprisingly enjoyed this book. I thought from the first couple chapters and how Quell was written that I would not enjoy it but I became invested in the plot. The book was still a bit too YA for me but I would have loved it when I was younger. 

Many things went too easy for Quell in the beginning that made me not like her but she grew on me. It was hard to believe that her mother would just tell her something that she kept hidden from her all her life.

The pacing was a bit off, with the first part going by really fast but then in the middle kind of lulled with the more mundane things were written about. 

I loved the chemistry between Quell and Jordan throughout the book but the proclamation of love at the end felt unrealistic since it was only a few months together. 

The twist wasn’t that shocking to me as there was some things that made suspicious/not like the Grandmother.

The most maddening thing about this book is the absolute lack of fan art! there was NOTHING besides what was posted by the author herself. This book’s premise/descriptions are the perfect inspiration for fan art.
