Carve the Mark
by Veronica Roth
DID NOT FINISH
I'm stuck at 40%, and I've decided to not continuing this book. I feel reluctance every time I have reading time and this book is eyeing me.
Some people have trouble with this book because of the chronical pain issue or the racists thing. For more info on that I advice you to read other peoples reviews or google on it. I don;t feel like elaborating on that because that isn't my biggest problem with this book. That might sound a bit harsh because of course I hate racism and when bad representation of something, but those were not the reasons for me to stop reading this book. They were much more simple.
I have zero connection with the main characters. Zero. I don't like the people. I don't like their actions.
And I think the world building could have been much much better, if you know what I mean. I feel like the writers just throws some terms and names at me and I need to figure it all out myself. And it is a scifi-world and usually I'm easy to please with those, so the fact that this dos not speak to me AT ALL says even more.
But, I also hear people really liking this book, especially later on. But I just could not put myself to it. But I do recommend you to try this book for yourself if you are interested. It is just not for me right now.
Maybe I've read to many great books lately. Maybe it is because I have so many great books waiting for me on my immediate TBR-pile. Maybe this book is never right for me. I don't know. I only know that right now I feel that life is too short and time is too precious to read books I do not enjoy reading.
