I thought this book was abysmal. I really wanted to like it because the author was so nice when I met her, but the book is horribly misrepresented. It's advertised as a horror/body horror novel about a twisted company, but it's hardly that.

The body horror is basic at best and the main focus on the book isn't even the company or the product. It follows the MC's twisted world view and her childhood which adds nothing to the story. There is way too many descriptive sentences that add nothing to the overall atmosphere. It's like she was trying to sprinkle in sentences that would give the idea of horror, but it just fell flat.

The MC was just unlikeable and boring. The whole story just seemed to slog on and didn't really do anything. Nothing really happened and it was just dull because the MC was phased by like nothing she had done. It had a The Eyes Are the Best Part vibe because it felt like the author was trying to make a strong, female protagonist but she just came off as annoying with weak world views and very poor motivations and justifications for everything that she was just let happen.

Definitely a miss for me.
