The setting - the Silk Road in the 19th century - and the culture of the characters is something that completely fascinates me. I think Silk Road cultures are the most interesting on earth. And it's true what they say... The artwork in this manga is lovely.
I don't think I'm going to continue with this series however. At this point, the relationship between the 20yo bride and the 12yo groom is portrayed as equal parts mother-child and sex-interest. It's not a negative thing in the book and it's totally creeping me out. I don't care if that really is a normal thing in some cultures. Still creepy to me!
