I really wanted to love this, but it didn't super work for me.
What I liked: various combinations of queer families, kids dealing with real world problems, casual queerness and a setting that was open and welcoming for all types of queer people
What didn't work: there was so much packed into so little real estate. For just under 200 pages, I wanted more from everyone. With so many characters and storylines, nothing was truly given enough time to breathe and I felt like the scenes jumped from one to the other so quickly there wasn't enough time to sit with each character and interaction
I do recommend this for middle grade readers looking for a story about all different types of queer people and families and I do like that the young characters had agency. I just didn't love the structure and thought it would have been better focused on 1-2 characters or been 100 pages longer to give more space for everyone
