The Silent Patient
by Alex Michaelides
I won’t this as an e-book a while back on bookstagram and when it became a skip the line audio through my library I knew I needed to pair it and read it.
Alicia Berenson has what appears to be a happy life. A painter in a happy marriage, with a beautiful home. What dark secrets are lurking beneath the surface that would make Alicia shoot her husband five times and stop talking completely? Will she ever talk again and explain what happened that night?
WOW. I had an assumption a bit early on about one of the characters and part of my assumption was correct. However, Everything else surprised the hell out of me. While there were a bunch of connections made and many twists and turns it wasn’t a blink and you miss crucial information type of book. It had so many layers that were slowly revealed for the characters that made these seemingly two dimensional bland characters come to life and jump off of the page. Brilliant!
