Wenqi's and her parents are living in HOME, a place where the living can see and interact with the deceased. This is told from the perspective of Wenqi, Liam, a boy whose family is lingering outside of Wenqi's home for the chance to bid on it, and an elderly woman who is at first just referred to as Mrs. The more I read this the more angry I became at Wenqi's parents, specifically her mother. She is so obsessed with seeing her son again that she neglects her daughter. This novella shows how it can be difficult to accept that someone is dead, especially in the scene in which people bid on a house that is soon going to be vacant. I really liked this novella and I am looking forward to checking out of Ai Jiang's writing.
