The Marriage Game by Sara Desai
2.0
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Despite the main characters claiming to be modern and forward thinking, the book heavily relies on sexist stereotypes. Women can’t drive well, men are executives, and breasts are brought up so many times I just got tired of it. There was also way too much describing what drives the characters - it felt like I was reading the same sentences about her brother and his sister over and over. Let the characters have actions not specifically clarified like by a psychologist. Readers are smart enough to connect an action with the motivation and background of a character, it doesn’t have to be spelled out every time.
