This was a wonderful debut, full of magic and action. But we also are able to discuss concepts like racism, corruption, and loss within the two worlds. Traveling between Ghizon and Houston was enough of a culture shock, let alone imagining Rue having to abandon her family and friends without a trace. I loved exploring Ghizon and its secrets and can't wait to see more. There were some pacing issues throughout and some unexplained technologies, but I really enjoyed it overall.
