2012: This was a great read. The detail was really good, and the story was not confusing. I enjoyed it very much.
2018: rereading this book was such a pleasure.
I fell in love with this world back in 2012, so when I finally decided to reread it, I figured I'd still love it as much. But. Turns out. I loved it MORE. Maybe it's because the book comforted me when I needed it to, but I found myself delighted with every page. I loved this book from the first sentence. If I chose to have one favorite book, this would be it.
Maybe this book isn't your genre. Maybe it is. Maybe you read it and didn't like it. Whatever the case, I urge you to take a first or second look. Try to see it with fresh eyes.
I don't even like steampunk. And yet. This is my favorite series.
