intriguing collection of short stories by an indigenous writer (part of Italian descent 😍). Some stories are genuinely scary (arachnophobics beware!), definitely dark, where nightmares intertwine with the most intimate fears. The atmosphere reminded me of The only good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones, whom the author mentions among other amazing writers. The rez, alcohol, the blurring line between reality and nightmare, and horror.
.
Two stories I especially loved are ImiTate, might be bc I find kids scary, as they're all sort of aliens; and Dead America, which anyone with serious arachnophobia should stay clear of, it gave me the bumps
.
Plus there's a genderfluid werewolf! ❤️
