I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Okay I really liked this story!! The Mystery and simple magic was fantastic. I really enjoyed what little bit of the magic you found out about. Like you learned as the MC learned.

I did enjoy that it seemed to be a possible love between either her and a prince or her and a guard. Both ways are always fantastic little love story paths.

The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was how she trusted and got along with Hector so well and then she just decided to not trust him or listen to anything he had to say anymore. Like no chance to explain and all of a sudden all this mistrust? I just didn’t understand that at all. She wasn’t head over heels for Orson to where she like would blindly follow him, or she said she wasn’t. Yet she kept pursuing him and giving Hector no more chances even though she felt something? I just felt like she should have heard him out.

All in all I’m very excited to read the second book and thankfully it comes out next month because that ending was a doozy and I need answers! What is that creature. What does it want from her. Who will she end up with.
