I didn't think i would love this book as much as I did. I had no idea how Applegate would make me fall in love with a tree, but I did. This book seems so simple, but is so good. I think that it will resonate with kids, but I also think I would want to read it at the end of my life, to remind me about history and what we leave behind. I could see some people saying that part of the conflict is easily solved, but I thought the whole thing was well done.
