This book talks about the career of the author, Ellen McGarrahan. She was a private investigator who attended the execution of Jesse Tafero, a man whose execution did not go by the book. That reminded me of the scene in Green Mile with the botched execution. Eventually, evidence came out that suggested an innocent man was inhumanely put to death. The author went on a quest to uncover the truth about this case. I have seen a lot of great posts about this book, so I picked it up with my Audible credit. Perhaps I would have liked it better if I had read the physical book, though the narration didn't bother me. I was just bored out of my mind, and was unsure a couple of times if I could suffer through it. Read it at your own risk, because apparently most people seem to enjoy it.
