I thought I loved the first book (and I definitely did) but I really loved this one. Wes and Jamie are now an established couple, in a committed relationship and living together while playing/working in Toronto, but Wes's team doesn't know that his live in boyfriend is... his live in boyfriend. Wes fears being out and wants to keep his boyfriend Jamie a secret until the end of his rookie season because he's not sure what kind of backlash he will face. The entire team, and everyone else, thinks Jamie is just Wes's roommate.
I really enjoyed the storyline of Wes and Jamie trying to navigate being in a committed relationship and not being out to others. Their journey is such a ride and I was waiting with bated breath to see how it would turn out. I absolutely love Blake and his unwavering support! He's seriously the best side character. I really felt for Jamie when he was going through his depression and feeling helpless and hopeless. I also felt for Wes and struggling with trying to be the player he wants to be and honor his relationship, while also worrying if Jamie might be missing out by being with him and not a woman. I loved how well they communicated, even with some bumps in the road and it's so clear how unwavering and deep their love is. I know nothing can break them and so happy with the way it ended.
