This is book 2 in a series and I recommend reading them in order to understand Nadine and her backstory. She has a lot of family history that is relevant to this book. You also get to know her and her lovable team better. At the start of the book, I found Nadine a bit whiny and childish but she did get better and more likable as the book went on. I’m also not fully sold on her and Demko’s relationship. However, I do love them as characters. If you love gory murders then this is the book for you. The murders are definitely disturbing but written well. The pace was a bit slow to start with but it soon picks up and sucks you in. I was hooked until the end and I had no idea how Nadine was going to deal with the problem. I wasn’t sure how it was going to end, it definitely kept me guessing.
