Retaliation

If you’ve read Vengeance and Warrant you’ve been introduced to Nick and I have been waiting for his story since reading those two books. I knew his would be heartbreaking and it was, but it is also my favorite book out of the series. Though, this book may not be for everyone. It was a tough to read at times but don’t let that deter you.
Nick is the son of a monster. The horrible, gut wrenching things he has seen and experienced is something that will break your heart. Despite all of that horror Nick has become a better man. The one bright spot in his life is Blaire. The girl he would do absolutely anything for and do anything he could to keep her safe from his family no matter how much it would break their hearts.
I mentioned this already, but Nick’s story was my favorite of the series. My heart broke for him, but as the story went on it was slowly mended back together. He had experienced so much at such a young age. So much pain, loss and love. His relationship with Blaire was sweet, especially while they were children and it grew deeper throughout their teen years. After 14 years there was no loss to their connection, to their chemistry. If anything it had grown and gotten stronger despite the distance.
I love that we got some more of Cade, Ivy, Chaz and Jillian throughout this story. This can be read as a standalone, but I would highly recommend to read the entire series to completely understand the story.
