I’m not usually someone who re-reads books, but I picked this up for a great price and couldn’t resist diving in again. The first time I read it; I wasn’t writing reviews like this so I’m glad I get to share my thoughts now.

Charlie is hilarious. You can tell she’s going through a lot, and yes, some of her comments are out there but they still made me laugh. Reese was exactly the person she needed, someone she could open up to, and their friendship slowly (and beautifully) evolved into something more.

I cried so much when Charlie finally shared what she was going through. It was heartbreaking, raw, and so real. And just when I thought I had no more tears left for Charlie, Reese’s emotional breakdown shattered me all over again.

One of my favourite quotes from Reese:

“Life’s different at this stage, and I think, I really think, you’re my teardrop shot. You’re the high arch in my life. You’re beautiful inside and out, and you’re rare. So very rare.”

Even on the second read, this book hit just as hard. I gave it 5 ⭐️ with 2 🌶️ — some of the spice was definitely hot, but I was here for the emotional journey. I fell in love with these characters all over again.

While Ryan’s Bed will always be my favourite by Tijan (since it got me back into reading), Teardrop Shot is a close second. I highly recommend this one — or honestly, anything by Tijan. She’s officially an automatic-read author for me.

Happy reading, everyone! 📚
