4.5 stars! I truly LOVED this story and what made it even better was it was based on true events and the author, Caroline Lea, would frequently tweet items/scenery that helped her form this story. I absolutely loved it. I loved the exploration of a whole bunch of different themes; sisterhood, love, forbidden love, war, social impacts of war, foreigner on British Isles, abuse etc. It was phenomenal and the two twins who form the protagonists of this story are so easy to love. I knocked half a star off for its length as I felt some chapters were unnecessary.
