Ember didn’t realize that not everyone will help just out of the kindness of their hearts and she crosses paths with a man who doesn’t hand out things for free. Ember is living on the little wages she makes at the diner and at times she is pretty naïve. Rafe is the completely opposite. He has money and he is a rather commanding presence. All it took was for one chance encounter with Rafe and Ember is completely wrecked.

Ember and Rafe’s story started out pretty innocent, nothing devious and dark to it, but things quickly changed and I was completely sucked into the story and the relationship these characters have formed.

While this is a novella, the story is enjoyable but I feel like there is still so much to learn about Rafe and I am hoping that maybe in the future there will be more of him!
