A Quick Bite

I know the paperback copy of this is older and I remember picking up a copy at a yard sale back when I was still in high school. I am terrible and just kind of grab things at yard sales without reading what it’s about. If it looks good I’m all, “Why not?” Well, at the time I didn’t read adult books and I discarded it quickly. I honestly cannot remember what I did with it. Would have been useful if I kept it around but I didn’t. Semi-recently…Okay in January…Damn that was so far away! Sorry, off topic. Anyways, I decided I wanted to read it this year so I bought the ebook. Although it wasn’t amazing I still found it fun and enjoyable.
I know there are a lot of vampire books out there and although they all have a lot of similarities all the ones I’ve read find a way to do there own thing with them. A Quick Bite is no exception. There was a lot to know about what exactly being a Vampire entailed in this book. I love when I get to know new things and when they change things up.
Lissianna is a vampire that can’t stand the sight of blood. She literally passes out if she has to look at it and well I am sure I don’t have to tell you that that can make things difficult. That is where Greg comes in to play. Greg is a single doctor (it is mention on a few occasions how often his sister tries to set him up) on his way to leave for vacation when he is kidnapped in hopes he can cure Lissianna of her little huge problem. Lets just say things don’t go smoothly and from the beginning things get complicated. If it isn’t one thing it is another and the problems begin to pile up until the big “ah shit” moment.
I thought A Quick Bite was pretty humorous. Lissianna’s family really cared about her and I thought they were funny. Thomas had to be by far my favorite of them though. I think the best part of the story was the humor and there were some ahhhhhh!!! moments. Also, Lissianna and Greg had some time to get to know each other, was just hoping for a bit more bonding time before the feelings (besides pure attraction) surfaced. The sexiness is tame and their isn’t a ton but it’s still there. Besides that though I just didn’t find myself fully immersed having to turn page after page. I wouldn’t say there was anything I majorly disliked I just didn’t find myself fan-girling over it. I’m still glad i gave it a chance though and if I ever find the time I wouldn’t mind checking out the next one.
