The Edge of Summer by Bobbi Maclaren
4.0

Thank you to Bobbi Maclaren for an eARC of this book! This is a small town romance and that just so happens to be one of my favorite tropes. Delilah moves to Kip Island with her younger brother and sister, who she is now raising after the passing of their parents. She's been through so much trauma, as have her siblings, but they move to this small town to start over and hopefully heal. Little does she know, she is currently renting the home of a woman whose son she just rear ended that morning! Luke doesn't immediately warm to Delilah, and instead thinks she's in town for other reasons. However, they grow to like each other and Luke cares about Delilah and her siblings so much as time goes on and he gets to know her. Despite their not so meet cute, they fall for each other, and both share trauma and their brokenness with one another. Delilah realizes, with the help of Luke and other kind people in town, that she and her family are deserving of happiness and healing. I loved the depth of these characters, and their backstories. Luke and Delilah share more similarities than they think, and everything was written so realistically and so well, despite the tough subject matter at times. I loved the small town vibes and all of the side characters too! I can't wait for the next book in this series!
