Opposite of Always by Justin A. Reynolds
4.0

Opposite of Always is a great blend of YA rom-com and friendship dabbled with elements of Groundhog Day and About Time. It was quite a journey for our protagonist, Jack, who falls in love with Kate, who dies over and over. Every time she dies it is like a 4-6 month reset back to the past and he has to do everything all over again, have the same conversations, etc. He starts putting his experience to good use and invests in saving Kate's life. But will doing that jeopardize in someone else dying or friendships ruined?? Reynolds does a great job here at keeping this story both light and heavy at the same time. Kate's health issue is one not to be taken lightly and it is heartbreaking for these two kids, but it's balanced quite well with all the other elements that make YA rom-com so touching and fun to read. 4.5 stars!
