The Way I Hate Him by Meghan Quinn
3.5

Brother's enemy to lovers is my favorite trope, but this was not the best version of it. I really enjoyed this book at the beginning. I liked the banter between Hayes & Hattie, and I loved the comedic moments we got with Hayes’s grandmother and other side characters. It was good until they got together and the brother storyline was solved (dumbest conflict ever!). I wish it would have ended there, but no. We got a super unnecessary 3rd act conflict & breakup, followed by not nearly enough personal growth or groveling and the quickest forgiveness I have ever seen. I also just could not get on with Hattie’s best friend being so graphically obsessed with her man. Weird. The spice was good and spicy (minus all the dry humping). I can tell I will connect better with Ryland or Aubree if/when we get their stories.
